Client: Wessex Water - Victorian
Pumping Station/Educational Centre
Objectives: To produce highly interactive
multimedia presentations, a video to help create the ambience
and sound effects of a working pumping station. To create a
Dad's Army sound track and design and install all the audio
visual systems.
Solution: Location filming was undertaked
at a number of working Victorian pumping stations, this was
presented by LCD video projector, sound system and playback
of video via computer. An interactive multimedia quiz was produced
to test visitors knowledge of the water industry. This was designed
for individual use at a kiosk or for use by a group. The impact
of an exibition of Second World War memorabilia was enhanced
by a background CD of was time sound effects and music.
Conclusion: The visitor centre was
opened by Dr. David Belamy who commented on the high quality
of the visitor experience.
